Stitch & Bitch
Let’s make grandma proud and put our idle iPhone fingers to some use and get crafty.
Pick up new skills, meet new people or just enjoy your hobby in the company of others in a cracking pub. An open invite for total beginners to seasoned sewers to meet up to gossip about the day over a needle, thread & beer/wine/G&T/etc!!
SECOND MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
MEANING FIRST ONE IS 14th AUGUST!
Spread the word ladies.
I’m hoping we get a mix of people who have never embroidered before to people who are fairly confident. I consider myself a confident amateur and so happy to give basic advice.
If you aren’t already confident to get going on your own I would advise having a look at Instagram for a few ideas.
You will need:
Some closely woven fabric (old shirts or sheets are a good place to start). An embroidery hoop.
Embroidery threads. (I use these from Amazon they aren’t the same quality as anchor or DMC but a great starter pack for colour selection and if you’re on prime you can have them delivered the next day)
Some cash for drinks.
Hopefully for the first one we’ll get at least three of us! But let me know if you or your friends are coming so I can get an idea of numbers to book a table or two for us.
I would recommend downloading the stitching guide from this website. It’s my first point of reference.
Hoping to see you there,
Lauren – please contact me, email@example.com with any queries
